Why Is Respect Important ?

 Values are those principles, virtues, or qualities that characterize a person, an action, or an object that is typically considered positive or of great importance by a social group. I think that each person has different values and the importance of each value depends on each one's thoughts. 

I think the most important value of all time is respect, because without respect neither yourself, a family, even society, can work in an efficient way that helps all the ones in it. At all times respect should be applied, for example, in the riots of Black Lives Matter, people should have respect for what others think at the same time police should have respect for the riots and the people that are trying to fight for their rights. 

“Whenever those of us who are concerned about fairness in the criminal justice system attack police officers, you are doing a disservice to the cause,” said Ex-president Obama. Mr. Obama is a great example of a man full of honor and that has respect to all the people, without mattering their race, genre, age, etc. 

When you stop treating people with respect, things go wrong. A clear example of these is Hitler, he stopped treating people with the respect they should have, he killed around 7 million Jewish just because of their religion. He did not wanted to have a mutual respect, he treated people like some of them have less value, which is wrong.

Showing both of examples, Mr. Obama and Hitler, I can notice the difference in how respect should be at all time and cost implied, this value gives you a type of peace, and a great environment to be surrounded.

I think you can not give respect if you do not respect yourself first, you need to have respect for your own body, your own health, your ways of thinking. And when you learn to respect yourself, you would start treating people the way you want them to treat you. 

Respect should be all the time and at all costs, because it helps us to feel safe and to express ourselves. Even if you don't agree with somebody, you should respect their ideas because everyone is different.
